This Study is to be an overview of one of the most mysterious book in the Bible; The Book of Revelation.
Overviews can be seen from many different heights. Picture this; we are in a space station overlooking our planet and the view of things is limited. Next let’s take a ride in an airliner; the view is magnified with more detail. Now how about climbing aboard a small twin engine airplane flying over the roof tops, we can even see our house, some of the landscape and even our dog running after the neighbors’ cat!
So there are many views, such as, walking along a path or looking through a microscope. One of these describes the type of overview that we will endeavor to undertake concerning this wonderful Book of the Bible. The airliner, with an occasional switching to the twin engine would best describe the time we will spend in this study.
So fasten your seat belt and let’s start our flight!
There are important aspects of this book that will need to be considered to understand it. First, it is neither time specific nor is it chronological. We will explore this further in the first chapter. Then knowledge of geography, history, prophecy and Bible Old Testament understanding will also play into how we comprehend what the writer of the book was conveying.
We must also bring into the mix the different people groups that are being addressed, along with the understanding of some current and past events. Coupled with the clarification of what are informational chapter’s verses chapter’s about events in Heaven and on Earth. We hope this study will alleviate the fears many have of the events that take place in this book.
The Book of Revelation is a story of great victory for God and for Jesus; in addition, it is the story of Satan’s and the antichrist’ defeat. If this is piquing your interest then please stay with us on this journey and be ready for many surprises!
