Revelation 20:7-10
In verse 7 satan is released from his imprisonment after the one thousand years has expired. It is no wonder that there is no place of repentance for that rascal. You would think after being so easily defeated and imprisoned for that many years he would have learned his lesson.
Yet watch what he does as soon as he is released. We could ask ourselves, how can anyone be so deceived? Remember what Jesus said of him; ‘that he is the father of lies,’ so he deceives himself regularly.
In verses 8 we see that he wastes no time going out to deceive the nations around the world. Gog and Magog are specifically singled out to be in coalition with the other nations of the world.
Magog is a geographical reference to Asia Minor and Gog is a reference to a ruling area of Magog. From the Eastern view of prophecy and the geography of the Bible, it would be associated with Turkey.
As discussed previously in chapters 12 and 13 the Ottoman Empire was ruled out of Turkey and it was this Empire that has been resurrected that we see in the news today.
Out of this area as well as the rest of the world, satan will get another shot at causing a revolt by those that are still in pride and rebellion against the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ.
For the thousand years that satan has been bound, Jesus Christ will have been reigning out of Jerusalem along with King David of the Old Testament under Him. Yet there will be a final uprising against the Kingdom of God in the Earth.
Satan gathers an amazing force from around the Globe; as many as the sands of the sea. That is a lot of rebellion at one time.
These are primarily those who were born throughout the thousand year reign of Christ. They are not the glorified ones as we will be after the return of Christ. They are those that live in human flesh as we do now.
It boggles the mind to think that these people will live in a time that Jesus Christ will be ruling on the Earth and there is no devil present to tempt them. It would seem that it would be easy to live and worship God, but look what this verse says; “as many as the sand of the sea” are going to follow the devil!
Verse 9; does history repeat itself? Do you think that these people would have been aware of what happened at Armageddon? It would seem that they would have been taught by those of us that will be there ruling and reigning with Christ. One thing God always does and that is to make these things known to the world so that they can make a choice.
The Word of God will be taught during the thousand years just as it is now. The one difference will be there will not be influence from the kingdom of darkness. Jesus Christ will be right here with them; they will see Him and know Him. How can it be that they are so easily deceived? One word “Pride!”
Pride is the iniquity that was found in Lucifer who is now called the devil and it is still found in those that will embrace it.
So here it comes, these people rise up to cover the breadth of the earth, can you imagine? They compass the camp of the saints, (that would be us) which are located in the beloved city of Jerusalem.
They obviously didn’t come for a revival meeting! They came to overthrow them. Yet the next thing they will experience is the wrath of God and the fire that comes out of Heaven to consume them all in one fell swoop.
In verse 10 the devil finally gets his due and is cast into the lake of fire and brimstone to join his puppets, the anti-christ and the false prophet. They get to share the torment night and day for eternity, good riddance!
This will be a great day for all those that have suffered at the hands of that unemployed foul angel that caused so many to follow him into the same fate for eternity.
If you are reading this and have been deceived by him, please wake up, take the blinders off and embrace the love of God to enter into a life of God’s goodness for eternity!
Receive the work of redemption God provided through Jesus Christ. Ask Him into your life, embrace His truth, confess Him as Lord of your life and His Spirit will come into yours and recreate it into a brand new Born Again Creation.
Seek out a good Church and learn of Him. You will be thankful for eternity once you do!
