Revelation 12:10-13

Revelation 12:10-13

I believe verse 10 depicts the dragon being cast down as an event that took place 2000 years ago when he was defeated and stripped of all his power by Jesus Christ and not as a future event.
The proclamations in this verse of “Salvation” have come and ‘the power of God’s Christ’ is most assuredly what happened at the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Jesus did state in Matthew 28:18 that all power was given unto Him.
Before the Cross of Christ, satan was given man’s authority when Adam disobeyed God and committed treason.  In Job chapter 1 we see satan having access to the Throne of God that was Adam’s place as a son of God and the whole story of Job is based on satan’s accusations.
So satan was able to accuse the brethren which at that time was the Jewish people and that is why God gave them a covering of blood until Jesus came bringing the “Salvation” related previously.
Satan no longer has legal access to the Throne since Jesus striped the authority from Him and gave it to the Church.  According to Hebrews 4:16 and Ephesians 2:6 we now have the access however, satan has not ceased to be the accuser he was, he just cannot do it before God’s Throne any longer.  His mode of operation is to get us accusing one another which will counter the commandment of love that Jesus gave us while on the Earth.
Every time a Believer gossips or backbites against a brother or sister in Christ, satan is having a field day knowing how it strips the power from the Body of Christ.  We need to recognize this and stop it in its tracks so that we can enforce the defeat that Jesus put on the devil.
Verse 11 gives us the understanding of the authority we have by the “blood” of Jesus and the power of our testimony of Him.  In other words if we are focused on Jesus and talking about what He has done for us, then we will avoid accusations against others and stop the devil from being successful!
Continue pleading the blood and testifying about Jesus and watch that rascal run in defeat!
Verse 12 is a mixed bag; on one hand the Heavens are told to rejoice at satan being cast down and having no more access to Heaven, then on the other hand a warning is issued to the Earth where he was cast down, now we have to put up with his rage.  However, that does not bother those who know their God and walk in the authority given them knowing that they have been raised up into the Heavenly Places in Christ Jesus.  This means that we can function from there and we have authority over anything that satan can try to do with his anger.
Whenever he sticks up his ugly head, use the sword of the spirit and chop it off.  Just remind him that he is a defeated foe and that his time is short and he will flee whiles he is having his tantrum!
In verse 13 we see as long as that dragon can stir up the people that are not citizens of Heaven to attack the people of God, he will.  From the time of the Cross until now, there has been much history concerning the persecution of the Jews and the Christians.
Today around the world anti-Semitism and anti-Christ activity is on the rise.  The Jews and the Church are both a covenant people, so we have many protections as a result.  However, against persecution that protection is limited as the Apostle Paul stated in 2 Timothy 3:12, “those who live Godly will suffer persecution.”  It is not a pleasant thought particularly for us Westerners who are not really familiar with it, yet if our government progresses in its ideology, the day could come that we as the Church could experience some form of persecution!
